The special study centre for IGNOU was started in the year 2010. As the days went by the numbers grew and it was made a regular study centre in the year 2018. Presently it has 40 counselors with one coordinator and four assistant coordinators managing the UG and PG courses with special concentration given to BCA and MCA being professional programmes needing lab facilities.  On an average one thousand students get admitted every year for the different courses. The college conducts induction programs, TEE bi-annually besides other examinations for admissions to specialized courses. The students have participated in plantation of trees programmes and educational trips. The centre is open on Sundays and Saturdays. During the week days the students have access to the centre as it is part of the facilities offered in the college managed by the regular faculty members (teaching and non-teaching). A special library is set up for the IGNOU students besides the access they have to the campus including the college main library.
