Department Profile

The Department of Computer Science and Applications offers three undergraduate programmes — B.Sc. (Honours) in Computer Science, B.Sc. (Honours) in Data Science, and BCA (Bachelor in Computer Applications), the latter being approved by AICTE. The B.Sc. Computer Science Honours programme commenced in 2010, followed by the BCA in 2012, marking key milestones in the department’s academic growth.

Initially, the college was affiliated with the University of North Bengal and adhered to its prescribed curriculum. With the attainment of autonomous status in 2023, the institution now designs and implements its own industry-oriented and skill-driven curriculum, while the final degree continues to be awarded by the University of North Bengal.

The department also supports other disciplines by offering Computer Science and IT-based electives and provides comprehensive IT support to the entire college. With a focus on academic excellence, innovation, and practical learning, the department remains dedicated to producing competent professionals ready to meet the challenges of the modern digital world.
