Bachelor of Commerce is a four-year degree programme with the possibility of completing the fourth year with research if a particular student secures 75% CGPA in the previous exams.
Department of Commerce
The Commerce programme is designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation and practical exposure in the fields of accounting, finance, economics, management, and entrepreneurship. The programme aims to achieve the following outcomes:
Eligibility for Application
1) Candidate applying for the programme has passed /appeared at the 10+2 level (WBHSE / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / other State Boards) in any stream (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India.
2) Candidates writing the class 12 examinations in March-June 2026 may apply with their class XII pre-board/final school exam marks.
3) Indian Candidate must have an Aadhar card /Foreign candidate with any citizenship proof documents.
Started at Siliguri campus from 2009, the Department of commerce is one of the largest in terms of the number of students enrolled. Siliguri being a hub and gateway of most of the commercial activities of North Bengal, Sikkim, the kingdom of Bhutan and Nepal, the department caters to such human capital who in the near future will be strategic knots of the huge networks of business people. The department value an interdisciplinary undergraduate education with an emphasis on critical thinking and discussion of original texts.
The Vision of the Department is to create a strong foundation for its students for their career and overall growth which directly contributes to the well-being of a nation and to inspire the youth to show attachment and devotion in a fearless pursuit of truth by being true to the motto of the Salesian college.
