Bachelor of Arts/Science in Psychology Honours/Research is a four-year degree program with the possibility of completing the fourth year with research if a particular student secures a 75% CGPA in the previous exams.

After completion of the programme, a student will be able to:
Knowledge	PO01: Grasp the theories of basics in behavioral sciences, especially general psychology.
	PO02: Acquaint him/herself with the history and development of psychology in major theoretical approaches in the west and in India.
	PO03: Relate his/her understanding of guidance and counseling, practice of various psychoanalytic, behavioral, and humanistic theories in counseling and psychotherapies.
	PO04: Gain awareness about the various contemporary innovations in psychology.
Skills	PO05: Demonstrate his/her communication skills through paper presentation on subjects as well as various interdisciplinary themes.
	PO06: Construct abilities in assessment, diagnostic, and intervention practices in psychology.
	PO07: Integrate and apply various behavior analysis methods and practices in individual and group applications of psychological theories.
	PO08: Acquaint him/herself with the diverse current evidence-based practices in Psychology, including development in quantitative and qualitative research domains.
Competence	PO09: Explore new ideas and thoughts through the application of theoretical knowledge of psychology in the service of individuals, groups, and society in general.
	PO10: Initiate self-sufficiency, sincerity, independent thinking as psychology professionals to practice in clinical and non-clinical settings to provide methods, tools, strategies, and approaches in practicing psychology.
	PO11: Enable the students in functioning diversity of psychology within and outside the nation and to promote interest in research and development of multifaced subjects and domains of psychology at pan-national level.

Instructions

* Scanned copies of the class 10, 11/12 marks card should be uploaded while filling up the application.

* If class 12 marks are not available at the time of applying, then marks of any test conducted during class 11 or Pre-board, can be uploaded.

* The office of admissions will verify the scorecards.

* Applications with no scorecards or vague scanned copies will be rejected and termed as Not Eligible.

About the Department-

Established in 2012, the Department of Psychology stands as the pioneer in the field, being the first of its kind even within the University of North Bengal, to which the College is affiliated. The department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Psychology and also facilitates peer counselling services on campus.

As the only college in the entire North Bengal region offering a postgraduate program in Psychology, the department is committed to addressing and understanding the diverse psychological and psychosocial phenomena of this region. It strives to nurture competent, ethical, and socially responsible psychologists who excel in theoretical knowledge, research, and applied practice.

In alignment with contemporary disciplinary advancements, the department emphasizes inclusive learning about psychological functioning at both individual and societal levels. Its mission is to prepare professionals who contribute meaningfully to mental health and social transformation through innovative and compassionate practice.
