Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is a four-year degree programme with the possibility of completing the fourth year with research if a particular student secures 75% CGPA in the previous exams.

After completion of the programme, a student will be able to:

PO01: Relate his/her understanding on the significance of theorizing and of applying theory into practice.
PO02: Develop knowledge of theories, concepts, and research methods in humanities and social science
PO03: Gain awareness about how global, national and regional developments affect society.
PO04: Grasp information related to the structure and functions of various units of government.

 

 

 

Skills

PO05: Construct multiple frames by which the idea of political community is debated.
PO06: Students will develop and be able to demonstrate skills in analytical and critical thinking.
PO07: Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental political process, institutions, actors, behaviours, ideas and familiarity with major theories, methods and concepts of Political Science.
PO08: Comprehend the basic structure and process of government system/ theoretical underpinning.

PO09:Explore new ideas and thoughts through the application of theoretical framework of Political Science
PO10:    Exhibit    in    critical    analysis,    effectively  evaluating and synthesizing complex political information and arguments.
PO11: Propose innovative solutions to contemporary     political challenges, drawing on evidence-based analysis.

Eligibility for Application

1. Passed Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (ISC/CBSE/INOS State Board) with minimum of 60% marks.
2. Online Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

* Scanned copies of the class 10, 11/12 marks card should be uploaded while filling up the application.

* If class 12 marks are not available at the time of applying, then marks of any test conducted during class 11 or Pre-board, can be uploaded.

* The office of admissions will verify the scorecards.

* Applications with no scorecards or vague scanned copies will be rejected and termed as Not Eligible.

About the Department

The making, maintaining and improving the largest democracy of the world calls for adequate learning, research and a knowledge processing system at different levels and areas in a democratic country like ours. The department of Political Science caters to this aspect to create responsible, knowledgeable and morally upright citizens in our Country.

The department started functioning from the academic year 2012-13. Since its inception the department is actively engaged in teaching and research in the field of political philosophy, Modern political history, Indian government and politics, International Relations and Political Sociology as its core areas. The department promotes the study of the principles of social justice, secularism, democratic way of life and focuses on the different approaches to the problems of society. Hence as an academic philosophy the department encourages an interdisciplinary epistemology.
