Siliguri, 14 May 2026: Salesian College has become the first college in Bengal to launch the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), aligning its academic vision with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and NCTE guidelines.
The Deanery of Educational Studies convened a series of intensive planning sessions to chart the rollout. Faculty members and academic coordinators from Education (UG & PG), ITEP, History, and Physical Education took part in the discussions. They engaged in focused deliberations on curriculum design, interdisciplinary integration, practicum structure, assessment strategies, faculty coordination, BOS structuring, and infrastructural readiness.
The sessions underscored a learner‑centered, holistic framework for teacher education, culminating in a structured roadmap for effective implementation. Through these initiatives, Salesian College reaffirms its commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and transformative teacher preparation, aiming to nurture future educators with professional competence, ethical values, and a comprehensive vision of education for the 21st century.
