Siliguri: Salesian College (Autonomous), Siliguri, proudly announces that Anand Kumar, founder of the Radio Club and final‑year M.Sc. Psychology student, has been selected to participate in Jagriti Yatra 2026.
Jagriti Yatra is a 15‑day, 8,000‑km train journey across India from 21 November to 6 December 2026, bringing together 525 youth to learn from 12 role models, visit 12 destinations and participate in 4 mega events.
Organized by Jagriti Sewa Sansthan, the program is dedicated to “Building India Through Enterprise” and inspires young leaders to become job creators in Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 districts.
Jagriti Sewa Sansthan, founded in 2002 in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, is a non‑governmental organization committed to empowering marginalized communities—especially women and children—through health, education, and social justice initiatives. It is the organizing body behind the Jagriti Yatra, India’s flagship train journey for entrepreneurship.
Anand Kumar’s selection, from among nearly 50,000 contenders, highlights the innovative spirit nurtured at Salesian College. His leadership in founding the Radio Club and his academic pursuit in psychology reflect the institution’s commitment to fostering creativity, social responsibility, and enterprise among students.
