Siliguri : The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit II of Salesian College Siliguri hosted a heartfelt farewell for its senior volunteers while formally welcoming the newly elected office bearers, on 10 May 2026.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Principal Fr. Dr. Babu Joseph, along with Vice Principals Fr. C.M. Paul and Fr. Dr. Saju Puthuserry, whose words of encouragement highlighted the enduring value of service and leadership fostered through NSS. Their participation underscored the institution’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible students.
Unit officers John Lakra and Sunita Sherpa led the proceedings, acknowledging the contributions of the outgoing seniors who had dedicated themselves to community outreach, environmental initiatives, and awareness campaigns. They also introduced the new office bearers, who pledged to uphold the NSS motto “Not Me But You” and continue the legacy of service.
The farewell was marked by emotional reflections from seniors, cultural performances by juniors, and a symbolic handover of responsibilities. The event concluded with renewed enthusiasm, as the new team prepared to take forward the mission of NSS Unit II in building bridges between the college and the wider community.
