Sonada: Salesian College Sonada made history with the appointment of Dr. Terence Mukhia as its new Vice Principal, a move that underscores the institution’s commitment to fostering lay collaboration in educational leadership. The move was necessitated due to the transfer of present Vice Principal Dr Br. P.A. Jose as Assistant Director of DBTech in New Delhi.
Since its re-location in Sonada in 1938, Salesian College always had Salesian Vice Principals.
The appointment was formally communicated by the President of the Governing Board in the Kolkata Salesian Provincial Circular dated 3 May 2026, following discernment by both the Provincial Council and the House Council.
Dr. Mukhia, one of the senior‑most faculty members of the College, has previously served with distinction as Dean of Salesian College and as IQAC Coordinator, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening academic quality assurance and institutional development.
Provincial Fr. Sunil Kerketta said, “His long association with the College, coupled with his leadership in governance and pedagogy, makes him uniquely suited to guide the institution in this new capacity.”
As he assumes this responsibility at his alma mater, the College community extends heartfelt congratulations and prays for God’s abundant blessings on his ministry and service.
