Siliguri: Principal of Salesian College (Autonomous), Siliguri convened a meeting of Vice Principals, Deans, and Heads of Departments, 7th May 2026, to deliberate on pressing academic and administrative matters.
The agenda covered a wide range of issues central to the smooth functioning of the institution. Discussions included data entry for the new ERP system, instructions for timetable preparation, and admission procedures for the upcoming academic session.
Attention was also given to infrastructure readjustments to optimize classroom use, as well as strategies for the promotion of new programmes.
The meeting reviewed examination protocols, including the special supplementary examination, and finalized a reporting format for HoDs and Deans.
A highlight of the meeting was the announcement of several new appointments aimed at strengthening academic leadership and student services:
Dr. Ranita Chakraborty was appointed Dean of Educational Sciences.
Associate Professor  Dr.Jagadish Samanta was named Principal of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP).
Dr. Patrick Johnson took charge as Dean of Student Affairs.
Assistant Professor Bikiran Das was designated Deputy Controller of Examinations.
Assistant Professor Prathistha Dewan assumed the role of Dean of Social Sciences.
