Siliguri: The 10th edition of Conoscenza, the flagship academic event of the Department of Commerce, and organised by the Salesian College Commerce Association (SCCA), was held on 30 and 31 March 2026.
Over two days, the event provided students with practical exposure to corporate environments through simulations and strategic activities that tested analytical thinking, decision-making, and creativity.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Principal, Vice Principals of Commerce and Sciences, and Guest of Honour Prof. Samirendra Nath Dhar, Head of the Department of Commerce, University of North Bengal. Formal proceedings included invocation, lighting of the lamp, and an inspiring address by Prof. Dhar, followed by the unveiling of the trophy to mark the commencement of activities.
Day one featured events in Finance, Human Resources, Media and Marketing, and Board Meeting, while day two continued with Public Relations, Strategic Management, Fun Event, and Tycoon. Each segment challenged participants to demonstrate leadership, innovation, and business acumen.
The closing ceremony on 31 March included addresses by dignitaries, a vote of thanks, and prize distribution. Eight teams participated with remarkable enthusiasm and teamwork. Team Matsya emerged as the winner, Team Magadh secured the runner-up position, and Team Gandhaar was declared second runner-up.
Conoscenza 2026 stood as a testament to the dedication of the Salesian College Commerce Association, the guidance of faculty members, and the spirited participation of students. END
