Siliguri: The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Salesian College Autonomous Siliguri organized a four-day educational trip, 16 to 19 March 2026, to North Sikkim for 25 students across all years, including Core B. The program coordinated by 3 faculty members aimed to extend learning beyond the classroom by offering practical exposure in diverse cultural and natural settings.
Students visited Gurudongmar Lake, Zero Point, and Lachung—destinations renowned for their breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural diversity. As budding media professionals, they observed communication patterns, documented experiences, and reflected on tourism practices in the region.
The journey proved both enriching and enjoyable. It fostered teamwork, adaptability, and keen observation—skills vital to the field of mass communication. Students also gained valuable insights into reporting and presenting real-life situations effectively.
The North Sikkim trip was not only a memorable adventure but also a significant step in their academic and professional growth. END
