Siliguri: The 27th edition of Elite Talk hosted by Jasmine Jasica Murmu (English, 6th semester) and inaugurated by Fr. Dr. Saju Puthussery, Vice Principal (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) had six presenters. Judges for the event were Dr. Srashta Chowdhury (Geography) and Dr. Trina Sen Gupta (English).
The first speaker, Aditya Khati (B.Com, 4th semester), set the tone with his thought-provoking talk, “The Devil’s Box.” He was followed by Anurag Mital (Mass Communication and Journalism, 4th semester), who reminded the audience that “Happiness Can Be Found in the Darkest of Times.”
Ashwina Chhetri’s (Economics, 2nd semester), “Standing Here Anyway” resonated with resilience. Mary Ann Beck (Economics, 2nd semester) captivated listeners with her personal reflections in “Life Is Momentary.” Silky Lukram (Sociology, 2nd semester) offered a moving perspective in “The Strange Comfort of Being Hard on Yourself,” while Sr. Kamti Mary Lyngdoh Nongbri (Education, 2nd semester) closed the session with her heartfelt talk, “Small Things Done Everyday Make a Big Difference.”
The judges named Mary Ann Beck as Speaker of the Day, with Ashwina Chhetri as runner-up—both representing the Science Deanery.
Guest speaker Mr. Mingu Sherpa (Political Science) added depth to the program with an address that blended insights and personal experiences. The event concluded with feedback from the judges and a vote of thanks by Apurva Chettri (B.Com, 6th semester).END
