Siliguri: The Inter-College Basketball Tournament, Taverna Trophy, was successfully hosted by the Sports Association and the Department of Physical Education at Salesian College, Siliguri on 21 February 2026. The event drew spirited participation from seven colleges in the Boys’ category and four colleges in the Girls’ category.
In the Boys’ category, teams from SIT Sukna, Inspiria Knowledge Campus Siliguri, APC College Siliguri, Don Bosco College Tura (Meghalaya), Loyola College Namchi (Sikkim), St Joseph’s North Point Darjeeling, and Salesian College Siliguri competed. Salesian College, Siliguri Campus defeated Loyola College of Education in the finals to claim the championship.
In the Girls’ category, teams from Don Bosco College Tura (Meghalaya), Salesian College Sonada, Inspiria Knowledge Campus, and Salesian College Siliguri participated. Salesian College, Siliguri triumphed over Salesian College Sonada in the finals.
The tournament showcased exceptional talent and discipline, marking a proud moment as Salesian College, Siliguri emerged champions in both categories, making the event a memorable sporting occasion for all. END
