Siliguri: Salesian College Siliguri hosted the online inspection of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) under the National Education Policy 2020 on 6th January 2026. The inspection began at 10:30 a.m. and unfolded across the campus, with the Inspection team reviewing facilities ranging from lecture halls and Kilian Arcade to laboratories, the library, staff room, stadium, and other allied spaces on-line. Faculty members, office staff, and support staff were actively engaged in ensuring that the process ran seamlessly.
Since 2024, ITEP had been applied for the subjects of English, Geography, and History, with two units of 50 students each, and the inspection focused on evaluating the college’s preparedness to host these streams.
The exercise led to class disruptions in the English, Geography, History, Mathematics and Education departments. Economics faculty members played a central role in coordinating logistics, and Computer Science classes and labs were also affected.
Throughout the day, the inspection team was shown the full range of physical facilities, with HoDs ensuring readiness and extending support. The process concluded after 2 pm, reflecting the college’s commitment to academic excellence and its readiness to embrace the Integrated Teacher Education Programme. END
