Siliguri: The Department of Mathematics, Salesian College (Autonomous), Siliguri, recently organized three days of academic enrichment and celebration.
On 18–19 December 2025, in collaboration with Little Flower Degree College, Uppal–Hyderabad, a Two-Day Online Workshop on SageMath was conducted via Google Meet. The sessions, led by Dr. D. Vignesh, Research Coordinator at the Center for Mathematical Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, introduced students to SageMath and its applications in computation, algebra, calculus, and research.
This was followed by the National Mathematics Day celebration on 20 December 2025, held in anticipation of Ramanujan’s birth anniversary on 22 December. The programme featured a talk by Assistant Professor Subhajit Paul on the remarkable contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan, along with student presentations, a quiz, mathematical games, and a treasure hunt.
The events fostered analytical thinking, collaboration, and enthusiasm for mathematics among students and faculty alike, making the occasion both memorable and inspiring. END
