Salesian College, with its two campuses in Sonada and Siliguri, has a number of agreements with various educational institutions and organisations for the purpose of mutual benefit of the college students, faculty, management and the partnering institutions. The college is ever seeking to partner with institutions and organisations for carrying on its task of giving a holistic education to its student community and for the overall development of the Academic Community.The following briefly elaborates the central theme of all the agreements entered into by the college.

The MoU with Naandi Foundation for its CSR Livelihood programme-Mahindra Pride Class Room, has been entered into to explore collaborations for increasing employment potential in theState of West Bengal and Sikkim by enabling supply of skilled manpower in the desired sectors, strengthening the training infrastructure related to the requisite skill set, as well as by adopting new age technologies as per the demand of industries.

The MoU with ninemember institutions of AIACHE; Sophia Girls College (Autonomous), Ajmer, Christ University, Bangalore,Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore, CMS College, Kottayam, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Rajagiri,Lady Doak College, Madurai, Bishop Kurialacherry College, Kottayam, St. George’s College, Aruvithura,Patna Women’s College, Patna,is for the purpose of Faculty & student exchange programmes, sharing of resources and infrastructure, and organization of joint activities in research, co & extra – curricular areas.

The agreement between International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, is for working on the Indo UK R&D Project, Residential Building Energy Demand Reduction in India (RESIDE). This (RESIDE) research project aims to understand energy use in India to improve house construction to reduce energy use. The results will be curated into a ‘data bank’. This also aims to understand in a better way as how electricity is used in Indian homes to identify ways of managing and reducing its use. The research findings will be published in academic journals and conference papers, for dissemination to a wider audience.

The agreement with IUS Education Group spread over Europe and Latin America intends to collaborate on projects related to education and social inclusion. A series of seminars have been already executed and a book project is underway. The member institutions in the network are all of the same vision and educational mission across the world. These institution endeavour to practise the preventive system, the pedagogy of positive attention to the creative engagement of students on campus. 

The institutions that are party to the agreement are all Don Bosco institutes. The agreement was signed in September 2018 in the UNISAL campus of Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The agreement with Newman University, Birmingham, United Kingdom, has been undertaken for the purpose of establishing specific educational relations and cooperation between the two participating institutions in order to promote academic linkages and to enrich the understanding of the cultures of the two countries concerned. The agreement consists in a student/Faculty exchange programme. The agreement seeks to encourage international educational cooperation and exchange between the institutions in the areas of students exchange, exchange of faculty and staff, collaborative research projects, exchange of information, library acquisition and publications, special short-term programmes for professional and academic groups, online distance programme, promotion of lectures, research workshop, symposia and other activities jointly developed by the two institutions.

 The agreement with St. Andrew’s College, Mumbai, is for the purpose of Faculty and students’ exchange programme, joint research programme and cultural exchange.   The agreement with YI, a subsidiary of the Confederation of Indian Industry, has been entered into for the purpose of Industry-Academia linkage for students to benefit through practical exposure and interactions with industry and its allied activities.  The agreement with Cafe Melange has been entered into for conducting events by Pianazzi literary Society of the college.  The agreement with Assam University, Silchar, is for the Publication of the book project “Knowledge, Theorization and Rights”
